Dr. Tawana M Rochester, native of Paterson, NJ & the wife of Dr. Melvin H. Rochester II. Tawana accepted the Lord at a very early age of 20. When others decided to stay out at the clubs Tawana had a heart to serve the lord. Prophetic intercession is the foundation of her call.
She formed a prayer team in the 1990’s and that prayer team prepared the way for revivals for several churches as well as the legendary Twinkie Clark when Twinkie came into town to do a revival.
She is anointed with the “Sound of God” and has been singing since age 7. Her first performance was for her 3rd grade graduation, where she shocked everyone because she was a little girl with a big voice. As a result, Tawana continued singing and entered into the schools “Students Performance Day” and won every contest singing the song “And I am telling you”. As Tawana continued in her endeavor in her teenage years, she began to enter contests such as The Anheuser Busch Contest, The Apollo, The Hal Jackson Talented Teens and other local contest. At the age of 17 she did a project with a new artist at the “Cotton Club” in New York City. At the Age of 18 Tawana decided to retire singing the hit song from one of her favorite artist Jennifer Holiday “And
I Am Telling You” that won her many contests, and form her own group called “Prestige” they recorded a song called “Men” Where she was supposed to sign with Motown March 5, 1990.
God had a different agenda for Tawana, she gave her life to Christ on March 4, 1990 and instead of signing with Motown and going on the road as back up for Al Jarreau she formed a gospel group called “The Anointed Voices of Praise”, that group lasted a couple years then she relocated to Atlanta Georgia and participated in The King of Glory Play, Motion picture “Life we know it” Spirit & Truth CD, JES’US Drama Ministry, The Plus Size Diva Production. & RIMSHOT Musical Production.
Tawana and her husband Dr. Melvin Rochester Pastors Crucified with Christ Ministries in Lithonia Georgia with their two sons Melvin H Rochester III and Ian K. Rochester. She has a Doctorate in Counseling, she’s a certified Life Coach and the CEO of I love Healthy Me and Soul to Soul Outreach. Most Recently she has signed with HGTG (He Gets The Glory Productions) under the leadership of Chris Brunson and Andrew Hawk with her new EP “Hiding Place”
Tawana is a Psalmist in her own right and her goal is to give God the glory in all that she does. She wants the world to see how much she loves God with every gift that He has given her.
